Another successful wedding. Take a look into one of our busy shooting days and see what we accumulated over the 12 hours.
This is the story of Shane and Markina.
Oh, what a wonderful feeling it is to put down our, metaphorically smoking, cameras at the end of a wedding. The love tunes are blasting from the dance floor, everyone is happy and relaxing as they catch up with cousins, and our cameras are full of, for most people, once in a lifetime photos.
Every wedding we attend is a series of precious moments that we must capture to last the couple a lifetime. To be witnesses to this over and over, as true love finds a new beginning is truly amazing.
The day started right from the moment we arrived. Sneaking into the dressing room, as to not disturb the bride and girls preparing, we snapped away getting behind-the-scene perspectives.
Time for a Wedding
The featured Bride and Groom for this week shared a breathtaking ceremony at Bogey’s Inn, Sombra. With only a few family members and friends invited, and others to arrive for the reception, the entirety of the ceremony was quaint and heart warming; a pleasant change from the 100 to 200 wedding guests at one time, which is typically seen.
With the 40 guests sitting comfortably on the deck awaiting the wedding, the vows took place surrounded by sons and daughters of the loving couple. This was followed by a Friendship Circle, in which the family links arms around the Bride and Groom and says a blessing.
Visiting time commenced and they popped out the bubbly, even the kids had a little taste.. of the sparkling juice of course. Many hugs, many congratulations and the ceremony was complete.
Stepping Back to Photograph
One of our most favourite parts of the day is when we are able to take the bride and groom away from the hustle and bustle to capture some photos of just the two of them. Perhaps we love it because we can show off some of our creativity to showcase the beauty of their day.
Even Grandpa gets into the spirit of things!
Time to Dance
We gathered some final shots and then it was time for dancing. Everyone joined in and got the kids riled up! This little guy was on fire on the dance floor!! The bride and Groom start the show, and others follow as the songs turn from love to pop.
And last, but certainly not least, we ended the night with a romantic firework display in honour of the couple. With flashing explosions, we photographed the sky gazers until the smoke faded and the stars were the only lights beyond the lightly clouded skies.
With another night done, we look onward to the many wonderful nights we will have the opportunity and privilege of photographing for more exhilarating couples. We loved sharing the evening with Shane and Marinka and a special thanks to this lovely couple!
Until next time,
